Part of Jainism’s fundamental values is showing compassion for all living organisms. Our planet is a living organism that we may sometimes take for granted and it is imperative that we come together, now than ever before, in supporting all efforts to address issues related to our planet.

Join YJP on Sunday April 18th at Pelham Bay Park as we take part in Earth Fest 2010. Come learn about organizations that tackle issues from global warming to forest preservation and how we can play a role not only on Earth day, but every day. Let’s make every day, Earth Day!

EarthFest is the largest Earth Day-related celebration in the Bronx, and brings together environmental organizations, preservationists, performers, and advocates from around the region to the largest park in New York City. There is something for everyone with exhibits, hands-on demonstrations, performances, and much more. Come to the Park and learn why "It Starts With You."

There will also be opportunities for electronics recycling. Come to EarthFest and bring your unwanted electronics (both working and non-working computers, monitors, TV's, printers, keyboards, mice, cables and cell phones are all included) to be recycled in an environmentally sound way. Look for the collection truck at the parking lot off Stadium Avenue and Middletown Road.

All interested in showing your love for the planet, please register today.

Contact Vaibhav Ajmera (, YJP Northeast Director, with any questions.
